Sunday June 8, 2008 Sailing to College Fjord, Alaska

The sun rose at 4 am again, but I slept in until 6. Had breakfast and then went up on deck to enjoy the glorious morning. The tour director said that this was one of the best days at College Fjord. There were many glaciers - each named for an Ivy League school - Harvard, Princeton, etc.

I went to the Internet Cafe and signed up for a plan so I could do emails and update my blog since my phone doesn't work out here in the wilderness.

Had a relaxing and leisurely morning - read parts of a couple of books and had lunch. I went to the Art Auction at 2 - had champagne - but didn't buy anything - nothing that I liked. During the afternoon we headed out to sea - we can no longer see the land as we head for Glacier Bay where we'll spend the morning tomorrow. I used this time to take a glorious nap. The weather has turned cloudy and cool.

After napping, I watched a movie on Alaska and its wildlife and then Happy Feet which I had never seen. Had cocktails in my cabin and then went to the Internet Cafe to update my blog and check email.

Off for a martini in the Atrium Bar and then to dinner.
